Good morning Family and Friends,

This morning, I wish you all a thoughtful, somber Memorial Day. To me, this is an especially subdued weekend compared to those of the past. This year, the Memorial Day weekend seems to be serving a dual purpose; its traditional pause for us to remember those men and women lost in the wars of our nation and this year, to reflect upon the more than 100,000 of us who have perished in just a few recent, short months.

And, it’s much more than the 100,000 Americans and the deaths of so many others on our earth, but the grieving and the loss felt by so many family and friends.

I’m wondering if we are becoming too accustomed to these extraordinary daily casualty figures. They’re awful numbers, but to some of our leaders, they seem to be just numbers and too often I’ve heard ‘very good numbers’, trump calls high US Covid-19 numbers a "badge of honor" and “we’re doing very well”*

 

This historic era, that we’re all a part of, reminds me more and more each day of the statement Joseph Stalin made  - “One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic”.

When I hear trump, without a scintilla of empathy- nor even a slight measure of humanity, do and say what he has said and done during this tragic time, I shake my head in disbelief. Even now, as this disaster slowly evolves, he’s vindictive, self-congratulatory, anti-science and mean spirited – precisely at the time when our country needs the exact opposite.

                            

I took the picture of the field of flags in front of a civic building during an art show right after 9/11 and now, our country is losing the equivalent of lives lost on 9/11 in NYC, WDC and PA every 2 days, or less.

Think of what our country, our President, did** in terms of national and international effort in the wake of that tremendous loss and consider what our president has done and is doing now when we’re losing many more American citizens now.

I’ve been lucky; I’ve lost no relatives or friends in our wars, no one to the Corona Virus but do have friends who are on the front lines of this plague.

On this Memorial Day, I will be thinking of the military losses, the Corona Virus losses and the sacrifices so many Americans are making now.

trump Takes a Page from Brutal African Commanders’ Playbook

President trump is taking a page from brutal African commanders’ playbook in his bid to recruit kids as Covid 19 Warriors in order to open schools. He’s even designed a camo uniform for the school kids topped by a red MAGA helmet-like hat. These children will be called Trump’s Youth-sound familiar?

In the 1950’s, when trump was growing up, WikiLeekZ believes he must have watched the TV game show-‘You Bet Your Life’ with Groucho Marx. The one thing that seems to have stuck with him is…You Bet Your Life.

Now trump is betting your life and our kid’s and grand children’s lives when, despite the country’s best scientific data and research states that it’s too early to open up America. trump is urging Americans to go to work and to school. Be warriors he says “the American people are warriors” …even the children will be warriors in his plan to boost and improve the economy which he deems necessary for his reelection.          

   

trump said that “schools should absolutely open this fall” and that “Fauci did not give an acceptable answer” in his interview when asked about America opening.

"I don’t consider our country coming back if the schools are closed."  -trump

Late last month, President trump told governors to “seriously consider” and “maybe get going on” school openings “because a lot of people are wanting to have [them]” and “young children have done very well in this disaster that we’ve all gone through.” 

WikiLeekZ wonders, in the light of an emerging ‘mystery ailment’ that trails in the wake on Covid 19 infections among kids, if this is the right time to engage our children as warriors in this fight.

WikiLeekZ is learning that at least 3 White House staffers including trump’s Valet, Pence’s Press Secretary and Ivanka’s Personal Assistant have all tested positive for Corona Virus. In a press release from the White House,  trump, Pence and Ivanka have all denied knowing the ‘Positives’, as they are being called. “Never heard of them, don’t know them, they were minor players in the West Wing, the testing is Fake, it’s a Hoax and anyway, they’ll be fine when the weather warms up. ####

At long last, WikiLeekZ feels safe; and the nation can exhale and breathe a collective sigh of relief. Right?

Yesterday, trump stated that “This is going to go away without a vaccine”. He did admit that there might be some “flare ups”.

Which was troublesome to WikiLeekZ, until

But “maybe not” and if so, “we’ll be able to put them out”…trump

But wait, there’s more and it’s confusing

About a week ago, trump launched ‘Operation Warp Speed’ to hasten the development of a vaccine, saying on Fox News the “the nation needs a vaccine”

WTF? WikiLeekZ wonders what all of that is supposed to mean. Can we breathe a sigh of relief now or not? Inquiring minds want (need) to know.

As usual, trump finally made everything perfectly clear when he opined

“They (people) say it’s going to go — that doesn’t mean this year — doesn’t mean it’s going to be gone, frankly, by fall or after the fall,” he said. “But eventually it’s going to go away.”

Sleep soundly everyone; trump’s got this covered…no problem. What a relief!

Why does an anti-science, unschooled, self-absorbed trump get to decide…all by his little self how many deaths will be recorded in America, and by extension, the world?

How has this country come to the point of allowing one ignorant, selfish person to determine the future of America?

Why are in we in a situation where an unknowing, lying, whining, braggadocio trump makes life and death decisions every day and seemingly, nothing can stop him as long as Mitch McConnell and his acolyte Senators continue to snivel, bow and scrape in the presence of their Dear Leader?

Right now, over 70,000-seventy thousand-70K of our once vibrant, caring, loving mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands, friends, children, nieces, nephews are no longer with us. There is no end in sight except further sirens in the night, the stacking up of body bags, burials without the dignity of friends and families at the internment ceremonies and lonely, agonizing deaths in hospital beds without familial comfort.

Where is the testing, where was the planning, where is the leadership...where is the concern, the caring and the empathy from the top? How many more deaths can we take?

Why must we tolerate such a mindless, oaf occupying the highest office? Why do we allow someone as incurious and uninterested in learning who only believes what his obsequious underlings, anxious for a passing nod, tell him what they learned last night from some snake oil salesman on TV who is even more outrageous than their Dear Leader?

What in the world is happening when our president gets his information from Fox News or his new best science teacher- One America News Network?

Why don’t the few actual scientists who only serve as props for his actions rise up, resign and go full tilt to tell America what an outrageous, deceitful man is deciding the fate of our country?

And what of his Cabinet and the 25th Amendment. Is this collection of feckless, greedy people going to continue kissing his ass in public and not say anything? What of the dozens...maybe more of former high officials? Doesn’t even one of them possess the intelligence and even the little bit of courage to tell us that the emperor has no clothes and Never has?

We, yes, we citizens will be judged by our children, grand kids and history - as we have so smugly judged the citizens of Nazi Germany who were too knowingly uninformed, timid or greedy to question another Der Fuhrer almost a hundred years ago.

When will we reach our breaking point and stand up and shout ‘enough’?

Will it be at 90,000 or perhaps 134,000. Or shall we all wait, huddled in our homes for the death toll to reach 175,000 or perhaps 200,000 as we listen to Dear Leader and vacuous Jared pontificate as to how well they are doing? They’re channeling George Orwell’s 1984 and aren’t even smart enough to know it.

He’s already said that many people say he saved lives because it could have been a million of us. But, we’re still counting and many who are reading this today will be just one of those numbers...nothing more.

Perhaps #82,567 or #96,332 or #136,874. What will our #’s be?

What is wrong with our country where 40% of us believe this shit he continues to peddle and all, seemingly, without a scintilla of shame!

A thought. He’s doing what he’s doing because he thinks it will help him win the next election so that he doesn’t have to face trial after trial in 2021. Let the Congress, Supreme Curt and Biden give him a complete pardon in advance so that he can leave office asap and not wreak any more havoc on America. The pardon will not extend beyond him…and he won’t give a damn; won’t bother him at all.

Yes, it’s come to this. He’s not worth one more death from the plague.

As an exercise in democracy in America, 6 mask-wearing American organizations-the Black Panthers, the ACLU, La Raza, the Red Guards, AIM and the Muslim American Society are planning to join forces and gather in Lansing and will copy almost exactly what the white guys and gals wore, said, did and carried last week. They’ll shout catchy slogans, chant and sing “We Shall Overcome”, wave revolutionary signs and banners and carry all manner of fire power…all echoing what the Right Wing, Informationally Challenged, Neo Nazis wore, said, carried and did.

WikiLeekZ wonders; what will the police do when they encounter them on July 4^th; what will happen when they confront the protestors? 

The 6 groups are taking their cue from the radical Alt Right, white power/Neo Nazis who descended upon Lansing last week. But this second group will be a masked-wearing rainbow-hued coalition of activists who assembled to protest the lack of adequate medical care, poor educational opportunities, shabby housing and lack of jobs and training.

What will happen when the police see crowds of singing, AK-47-brandishing activists swarming all around the capital building? Will they allow the demonstration to continue as they did with the white nationalists? Or, threatened by armed people of color, will they call an end to the assembly-with violence if necessary?

Will society and the police tolerate heavily armed black, brown, yellow, and red men and women who are protesting governmental policy by invading the building itself? Would the leaders be allowed to march throughout the halls of government and momentarily occupy the building as the Nazi’s did last week?

Would the president call out the troops? Would another Kent State or a Ferguson occur?
