Where are the Martin Luther King Jr’s of today? The Kennedy’s- John and Robert, Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt, A Phillip Randolph. Roy Wilkins, Huey Newton, Mahatma Ghandi, Andrew Young, Nelson Mandela, Pete Seegar and Woodie Guthrie. The Jim Brown’s, Jackie Robinson’s and Muhammad Ali’s of our day? 

Where’s Obama- Barack and Michele?- George Clooney and Meryl Streep?

Where’s Biden? Where’s Newsom and Buttigieg, Warren and Sanders?

Where are Bill Clinton and George Bush and Nancy Pelosi, Corey booker and Jesse Jackson? Where’s Lebron James and Steph Curry? MLB, the NFL and the NBA?

Where are the well-known, respected athletes and actors to whom people will listen to and heed their pleas for calm and safety and to question police killings?

Where are the so-called religious leaders of America and why are they not gathering to peacefully march with the protestors to demand structural changes and to help quell violence and destruction?

If not now, when? If not for this, then for what?

Where are the so-called national leaders now? He judges, the mayors and other elected officials, and why are they not in the streets saving lives and property and questioning authority?

When in the history of America have we needed leaders, more than now, of stature and honor to step forward, don their face masks and gloves and lead the protestors all across the American cities? Cities that are in flames and where for too long, black young men have perished, are dying and will be murdered in the future?

That declaration by trump made WikiLeekZ think about real looting in America.

WikiLeekZ wonders…When DID looting start in America?

Was it when the colonists settled on land that had been occupied for many thousands of years by Native Americans?

Or did the looting begin when Southern plantation owners brought and exploited slaves to do their work in the fields, businesses and homes? Slave owners stole their lives, robbed them of humanity and looted their abilities and labor for centuries.  

Was Manifest Destiny - the western expansion and the theft of Native American territory the first looting in America?

Did looting start with the slaughter of American Bison herds which were a cornerstone of Native survival?

Or was it the stealing of resources of minerals, timber and grazing lands and the genocide of Indigenous Peoples?

Perhaps the first real looters in America were the Robber barons of the 19th and 20th Centuries?

Did looting in America begin when African Americans were consistently and officially robbed of an equal education, housing and the right to vote?

Or did the looting of America begin more recently when, in the early 2000’s, Greedy Wall Street criminals and other crooks raked in billions of dollars from their fellow citizens and causing the economy to crash and resulting in zero robbers going to jail?

WikiLeekZ reminds us all that these despicable historic events and many, many others, mostly sanctioned by our laws, religious groups and the citizenry, are real example of looting.

How many, WikiLeekZ asks America, of these honest-to-god looters were shot and killed by a militia, the army, the National Guard or police officers?

WikiLeekZ also asks, how many black and brown people have been lynched, raped and  murdered by our so-called civil society for no reason at all; and more recently, how many  looters of a pair of sneakers or a flat screen TV will be murdered because…

Have you ever seen trump laugh?… laughing at another’s expense or woes doesn’t count.

How about smiling? Ever seen trump truly smile? I’m not talking about smirking or accepting fawning praise; nor a smug, self-satisfied smile.

I’ll bet you’ve never seen him tell a joke-on himself or been self-deprecating.

Has he actually ever told a joke just for the fun of it after the age of 17?

Has he been known to read a book…not including those about him or Mein Kampf or The Elders of Zion

Do you know if he has ever attended an Opera, Symphony or the Theatre unless it was for a headline charity event with cameras present?

Has he ever sung a song (including the real words of the National Anthem)?

How about listening to music? Or Going to an art museum-to look at the artwork?

Has he ever attempted to cook a 2 or 3 course meal by himself…and wash up afterward?

Has he ever been seen at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter actually, honestly helping those in need?

Has trump ever written a sincere note of sympathy/condolence by himself to comfort a bereaved 

friend? Secretary notes and Hallmark cards don’t count.

Does he have a best friend-one who doesn’t owe trump for his employment or station in life?

Has he ever taken a road trip, gone camping, or fishing with buddies?

Does he love, really love his wife and children?

Would he sacrifice his life for his children or grand kids?

Has he ever given anything or helped anyone without getting recognition?

Has he visited friends in the hospital…yes, it’s a trick question

Has trump been known to take advice or learn from his mistakes?

Is he a curious person?

Do you remember, even once hearing him apologize-for anything or admit that he made a mistake?

Has he EVER lived one 24 hour period without lying about something, no matter how trivial?

Does he visit the graves of his parents?

Has he ever been a gracious loser?…it’s a trick question.

Has he ever planted a tree without a picture being taken…or planted flowers in the spring?

Has he ever had his own dog? Did trump ever wash his dog, walk his dog?

Has he once given his kids a bath, fed an infant…changed a diaper?

Has he cleared the table after dinner or swept the kitchen floor?

Has he ever played a game of golf without cheating?

Does he really have bone spurs?

trump Marks 100,000 American Deaths by…SILENCE

Well, we all knew that at some point we’d reach 100,000 Deaths sooner or later, didn’t we? There’s more than enough sorrow to make all Americans cry out loud in unison…”why has this happened”?

We really didn’t expect to witness trump address the nation with empathy for the 100,000 perished citizens and more grieving families and friends, did we? He’s incapable of caring and utterly devoid of any human compassion.

We need to see heads roll at the very highest levels of Federal and some state governments as well as at many of our health agencies. There’s enough criminal malfeasance to fill prisons and jails across the country with incompetent, self-serving, stupid, vile officials.

Are we such a weak, frightened country with so little moral strength that we do not know right from wrong and cannot speak our truth to power?

Yes, we have a few recent examples of brave men and women speaking out, but they’re soon fired and then pretty much remain quiet and out of sight as the death toll rises every day. Where is the outrage? Where are the demonstrations? Where are the resolute high government officials who actually have the power to investigate the HHS and CDC and yes, the WH?

Is it that we’re too timid to confront the causes of the deaths of our family and friends or are we grieving and mourning too much to take up the pen, our keyboards or go to the streets to confront those in charge of the health and safety of our fellow citizens?

By any measure, despite their drumbeat of self-aggrandizing, batshit stupid talk, our leaders have failed the country miserably and must be held responsible- and right away. We can’t wait until November to effect a change in policy or leadership. We must demand compassion, competency, science, truth and a Manhattan project-style call to action. Otherwise, at the present rate another 100,000 Americans will be stone cold dead by November.

Who knows what will happen in November anyway? I don’t, you don’t, no one knows for certain. If trump is re-elected we can certainly expect more of the same self-congratulatory, outright lying…then what?

If he loses, don’t you think there’ll be a prolonged period of civil disorder or even anarchy while the death toll continues to mount?

If he loses so convincingly that he cannot contest the results, he will be the president for more than 2 long months while our people are dying because with the Republican Senate, there will be no economic and medical relief. And, for a reprehensible reason; trump and his spineless, unpatriotic sycophants in the Senate will want to be able to point to the ineptitude and failure of the new Democratic administration as the death toll climbs. 

Call, write, protest, talk, debate, argue and shout. We can’t mark this 100,000 with SILENCE!

Shhh, Quiet everyone. Don’t let trump in on the secret…don’t let him find out that if Twitter is shut down by trump, trump loses his ‘raison d’etre’…his reason for being. WikiLeekZ wonders…what in the world would trump do without Twitter. My how his Ego would suffer!

What would the poor child do at midnight after watching Fox News all evening? How would he be able to tell the people of the world the cogent, clarifying, empathetic thoughts of Hannity, Pirro and Ingraham? And, early in the morning how would the childish trump let the world know of his mean-spirited, self-congratulatory rants about the first thing that comes into his so-called mind as dawn breaks?

Twitter, you may be surprised to learn, is this infant’s best tool to debase, punish and spread lies about his past enemies, present enemies, perceived enemies, future enemies and past, current and future friends.

Good morning Family and Friends,

This morning, I wish you all a thoughtful, somber Memorial Day. To me, this is an especially subdued weekend compared to those of the past. This year, the Memorial Day weekend seems to be serving a dual purpose; its traditional pause for us to remember those men and women lost in the wars of our nation and this year, to reflect upon the more than 100,000 of us who have perished in just a few recent, short months.

And, it’s much more than the 100,000 Americans and the deaths of so many others on our earth, but the grieving and the loss felt by so many family and friends.

I’m wondering if we are becoming too accustomed to these extraordinary daily casualty figures. They’re awful numbers, but to some of our leaders, they seem to be just numbers and too often I’ve heard ‘very good numbers’, trump calls high US Covid-19 numbers a "badge of honor" and “we’re doing very well”*

 

This historic era, that we’re all a part of, reminds me more and more each day of the statement Joseph Stalin made  - “One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic”.

When I hear trump, without a scintilla of empathy- nor even a slight measure of humanity, do and say what he has said and done during this tragic time, I shake my head in disbelief. Even now, as this disaster slowly evolves, he’s vindictive, self-congratulatory, anti-science and mean spirited – precisely at the time when our country needs the exact opposite.

                            

I took the picture of the field of flags in front of a civic building during an art show right after 9/11 and now, our country is losing the equivalent of lives lost on 9/11 in NYC, WDC and PA every 2 days, or less.

Think of what our country, our President, did** in terms of national and international effort in the wake of that tremendous loss and consider what our president has done and is doing now when we’re losing many more American citizens now.

I’ve been lucky; I’ve lost no relatives or friends in our wars, no one to the Corona Virus but do have friends who are on the front lines of this plague.

On this Memorial Day, I will be thinking of the military losses, the Corona Virus losses and the sacrifices so many Americans are making now.
