Trump Channels    Jonathan Swift’s    A Modest Proposal

WikiLeekZ is Our Name…Satire is Our Game

When Steven Miller finished reading Jonathan Swift’s  A Modest Proposal   to trump, the president decided not to take the advice of the CDC and, instead, to advance his own Grand Proposal. Trump is now demanding that the nations’ school children go back to school without regard to local Covid 19 conditions on the ‘normal’ dates.

In his wisdom and because of his great knowledge of virology (probably the best knowledge in the US*) and taking into account Swift’s reasonable proposal, he has found the CDC back-to-school guidelines "to be too restrictive and costly". The CDC will review the proposed guidelines and most certainly will kow tow to the expert, trump.

One could now make an argument that he’s modeling his trump’s Grand Proposal after Jonathan Swift’s essay, A Modest Proposal.  In trump’s case, he’s sacrificing our children on the altar of commerce (and his re-election).

Like Swift suggesting a solution to famine by eating the children of poor people, trump’s Grand Proposal aims to solve another societal problem.  In order to get parents back to work before the election, trump proposes sending children to school to be cared for so that parents can return to work.

Virus? What virus? Danger? What Danger? “We’re doing very well”- says trump

Both proposals have the same outcome. Children will get sick and some will die and in the case of trump’s Grand Proposal, many parents and grandparents of the kids will meet the same fate. The major difference in the 2 proposals is that trump’s kids will be buried, not eaten.

In both Swift's and trump's proposals, "the overall economic well being of the nation" -J Swift, is the driving force.

Swift wrote a satirical essay, trump is deadly serious and has no idea what satire is.

trump's conclusion is that the implementation of his Grand Proposal will do more to solve the nations' complex social, political and economic problems than anyone else could ever have thought of. And, yes that's lifted from Swift too.

*Maybe the World-trump
